WhatsApp Business API in Saudi Arabia
Set up on the official Meta platform — Arabic and English templates, verification, automation and broadcasts, with no monthly platform charge.
A market that runs on WhatsApp
Saudi Arabia has one of the highest WhatsApp adoption rates in the world. For a great many businesses here it is not a support channel alongside phone and email — it is the primary one, and the others exist mostly for formality.
That creates an obvious operational problem at scale. A retailer, clinic or property firm handling hundreds of daily conversations cannot run them through a single phone. Messages get missed, follow-ups do not happen, and nobody can tell which enquiries turned into revenue.
The WhatsApp Business API in Saudi Arabia solves the operational half — shared inbox, agent routing, CRM sync, automation, unlimited opted-in broadcast — while keeping the channel customers already prefer.
Arabic templates are the part people underestimate
Template messages must be approved by Meta before you can send them, and approval is per language. Running an Arabic and English business means maintaining both sets, keeping them aligned, and resubmitting both when either changes.
Direction matters too. Arabic renders right-to-left, and templates that mix Arabic text with Latin-script variables — order numbers, tracking links, prices — break visually if the variable placement was not thought through. We have seen approved templates that render as unreadable in production because nobody tested them on a real handset first.
We draft both language sets, test rendering on actual devices before launch, and handle resubmission when Meta's policy shifts — which it does, more often than most businesses expect.
What it costs
Our fee is a one-time $200. That covers Meta Business Verification, number registration, template drafting and approval in both languages, chatbot flow design and integration. There is no monthly platform charge from us.
Meta bills separately, per message, direct to your account. Saudi rates sit in the mid range globally — marketing messages roughly $0.03–$0.05 depending on category, with utility and authentication templates costing meaningfully less. Replies inside the 24-hour service window are free, which is why a well-designed flow that gets customers replying quickly costs far less to run than one that pushes templates repeatedly.
Since July 2025 Meta charges per message rather than per conversation. The practical consequence is that message volume and category discipline now drive cost far more than session count.

Frequently asked questions
Do you provide Arabic template support?
Yes. We draft templates in Arabic and English, submit both for Meta approval, and test rendering on real devices before launch — right-to-left layout with Latin-script variables inside it is where most template problems appear, and they are invisible until you look at an actual handset.
How long does setup take in Saudi Arabia?
Typically five to ten working days. Meta Business Verification against your commercial registration is the slow step. Number registration and template approval follow quickly once verification clears.
What documents are required?
Your commercial registration (CR), a business address, and a number not currently in use on WhatsApp. We send a checklist before starting so verification does not stall halfway through on a missing document.
Can we broadcast to our full customer list?
Only to contacts who have opted in, and Meta enforces this through quality rating rather than a hard block. Uploading a purchased list is the fastest route to getting the number restricted. We set up compliant opt-in capture at the points where customers already interact with you.
Does it work with Salla, Zid or Shopify?
Yes — order confirmations, shipping updates, abandoned-cart recovery and post-delivery follow-up can all be automated from these platforms. Integration is via webhook or an existing connector depending on the platform.
Is a Saudi phone number required?
No, but it helps. Customers answer local numbers more readily than foreign ones, and it reduces the chance of your messages being treated as spam. If you already operate a Saudi landline or mobile number, that generally works.

Six stages, in this order. We do not skip ahead because a client is impatient — the sequence exists because each stage depends on the one before it.
Scope and use case
We start by asking what the messages are actually for. Order updates, appointment reminders, lead qualification and broadcast marketing need different template categories and carry very different costs. Getting this wrong at the start is expensive to unwind.
Meta Business Verification
Documentation prepared and submitted properly the first time. This is the step that stalls most setups, almost always because a document does not match the registered entity exactly. We send a checklist before starting.
Number registration
A number not currently active on WhatsApp is registered against the platform. If you are migrating an existing number, we plan the cutover so you are not unreachable during it.
Template drafting and approval
Templates written to match their category honestly and submitted for review. Marketing content filed as utility gets rejected, and repeated rejections affect account standing.
Flow and integration
Chatbot logic, agent routing and CRM or sheet integration. The goal is that a human joins the conversation at the moment automation stops being useful — not before, and not long after.
Monitoring and iteration
Quality rating, delivery and read rates watched weekly. Rating declines are recoverable if caught early and expensive if left, because template limits tighten as it falls.
The mistakes we see in Saudi Arabia
Every one of these comes from an account or a site we have actually inherited. None of them are hypothetical.
Messaging people who never opted in
The fastest route to a restricted number. Meta enforces through quality rating, and rating falls the moment people block or report you.
Filing marketing as utility
Template categories are checked. Dressing a promotion as an order update gets it rejected, and repeated rejections affect account standing.
Broadcasting too often
Frequency fatigue shows up as blocks, blocks show up as quality decline, and quality decline shows up as reduced sending limits. The sequence is predictable and avoidable.
No human handover
Chatbots that trap customers in loops with no route to a person generate complaints, not conversions. Automation should hand over the moment it stops being useful.
Ignoring quality rating
It is visible in Business Manager and it moves before anything breaks. Watched weekly it is an early warning; ignored it becomes a suspension.
Questions worth asking
Ask these of us and of everyone else you are considering in Saudi Arabia. The answers separate agencies faster than any proposal does. Local knowledge matters too — an agency that has worked around Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam will understand your customers better than one working from a template.
If an answer is vague, that is the answer. Vagueness at the sales stage becomes vagueness in reporting.
- — Who owns the accounts, domain and data if we leave?
- — What exactly is delivered each month, in writing?
- — Do you mark up ad spend or media cost?
- — Who actually does the work, and where do they sit?
- — What is the notice period, and what happens on exit?
- — Can I speak to a client you stopped working with?
- — What would make you tell me to stop spending?
What results realistically look like in Saudi Arabia
Honest timelines, based on engagements we have actually run rather than what sounds persuasive in a pitch.
Foundation
Audit, fixes and setup. Little visible movement. This is the stage clients find hardest, and skipping it is why most engagements underperform later.
First signals
Early movement on long-tail terms, campaigns stabilising, first attributable enquiries. Enough data to know what is working and what is not.
Compounding
Commercial keywords move, cost per enquiry falls as the account matures, and content published earlier starts ranking. This is where the work pays back.
Scale or stop
By now the numbers are clear. Either we scale what works, or we tell you honestly that the channel is not right for your business.
Terms you will hear, explained
Agencies hide behind jargon. Here is what the words actually mean, so you can hold any vendor to account — including us.
BSP
Business Solution Provider — a Meta-approved partner through which API access is provisioned.
Template message
A pre-approved message format required to start a conversation outside the 24-hour service window.
Service window
The 24 hours after a customer messages you, during which replies are free and unrestricted.
Quality rating
Meta's health score for your number, driven by blocks and reports. Falling rating tightens sending limits.
Green tick
The official business account badge. Granted at Meta's discretion based on notability, never purchased.
Things clients ask before signing
Can I keep my current number?
Yes, if it is not active on WhatsApp Business or personal WhatsApp. If it is, that account must be deleted first and chat history does not migrate. Many businesses prefer registering a fresh number.
Is there a monthly platform fee?
Not from us. Our fee is one-time. Meta charges per message directly to your account, and rates depend on country and category.
How many agents can use one number?
As many as you need. That is the main operational reason businesses move from the app to the API.
Can we send images, PDFs and catalogues?
Yes — images, documents, location, buttons, list menus and product catalogues are all supported.
What if Meta changes pricing again?
It has happened before and will again — the July 2025 shift from conversation to per-message billing was significant. We flag changes as they are announced and adjust template strategy so cost does not drift.
